Candace Bond McKeever

Candance Bond McKeever is President and CEO of the Initiative Consulting Group, a full service multi-media consulting and production Services Company with a specialization in strategic marketing, business development and maximizing public private partnerships.

With over 20 years of experience in the media industry, Candace Bond McKeever has demonstrated a proven ability to develop compelling content and grow corporate divisional revenues and profits. She has assisted numerous blue chip brands such as American Express, Starbucks, Ford and General Motors in developing media driven initiatives that connect with consumer lifestyles.

Candace Bond McKeever recently served as Managing Partner of Impact Strategies, LLC. a DC based corporate communications and political advisory firm. In this position she led communication and political advocacy efforts on behalf of clients such as the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Environmental Protection Agency, Anheuser-Busch, the NAACP, to name a few.

Prior to this position, Ms. McKeever held the position of Vice President and General Manager of Essence Entertainment where she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the division and produced nationally renowned properties such as the Essence Music Festival, and the Essence Awards. In this position, she successfully built alliances with a number of blue chip consumer companies including Budweiser, Chevrolet, Cingular Wireless, Clorox, Daimler Chrysler, Coca Cola, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oreal, McDonalds, Pepsi, Southwest Airlines, State Farm, and many more.

Ms. Bond McKeever also held the position of VP of Special Markets for Motown Record Co. and executive produced over 100 music titles, succeeding in taking the division from $13M to $50M in less than three years.

Ms. Bond McKeever began her career as a financial analyst on Wall Street at Prudential Bache Capital Funding and also worked at Banco del Gottardo in Lugano, Switzerland as an Economic Analyst.

Ms. Bond McKeever received her B.A. with honors from Harvard University, her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and her Executive Management degree in Sustainability from the Presidio Graduate School. She currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Diversity Committee. She is a member of the Obama National Finance Committee and was named Trustee of the Obama Inauguration Ceremonies. She also serves as a Board member of the American Red Cross of Southern California, the California Science Center, National Medical Fellowships, the NRDC Executive Leadership Council and the Alliance for Veteran and is a Presidential appointee to the National Advisory Committee on the Arts (The Kennedy Center). Currently, Ms. Bond McKeever is Executive Producing a national telethon in conjunction with the Entertainment Industry Foundation to air on ABC on Veterans Day (11/11/11) to benefit our nation’s Veterans and military families.
